Communities of Faith and Contemporary African American Life

Designed for the Center for African American History and Culture, the precursor to the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), this 5,000 SF exhibition, about faith and spiritual traditions in the African American community examines “the collective will of religious leaders and explores the ways that individual belief shapes and changes African American history and culture.” Although it opened in the Arts and Industries Building, it continues as a virtual exhibit on the Smithsonian Anacostia Museum website.
